Home is where the heart is.

Ask:

Team up with a 3D designer to update the display. While the 3D designer thought about structural changes and product updates, I had to think about graphic updates.

Challenge:

  • Categorize each section based on use case of each product

  • Build a pedestal for a featured Google product.

  • Marry together branding from Walmart and Google

  • Choose different lifestyle imagery

Solution:

When choosing new lifestyle imagery, I wanted think about the WHY. Why do people buy smart home devices? It’s usually to keep an eye on their home, protect their families and to make life easier. With this in mind, I wanted to show images of people with their familes, but not just the conventional family structure, families of different types. Another important element for me to show, and I try to reflect this across all of my designs, is diversity. Being a woman of color myself, representation is important to me. So I try to show images of people of as many different ethnicities as possible.

In-store photos

Unfortunately, finding your display in store means it might be missing a few elements…

I photoshopped the chair and light into this image to make it work for category.
